I bought this crib after exhaustive research on nontoxic (truly nontoxic) baby cribs. So many have formaldehyde-containing MDF or particleboard. I loved this because it was solid wood and has a metal spring web instead of a MDF panel for the mattress to rest on. However, I recently disassembled it to move my son into a big boy bed, knowing I’d need the crib in a few months for our little on on the way. To my surprise, when I removed the sides, all the slats fell out, as if they hadn’t been glued in at all. My son is definitely a crib jumper but I can’t imagine this having anything to do with the side slats. It was true on both sides. I’ve been trying to think of a responsible way to reuse this crib but simply glueing the slats back in doesn’t seem the safest course of action. So I have to give this crib mixed reviews.

I purchased two of these cribs for use when our (now 10 month old) twin grandsons visit once a month or so. They were easy to assemble - took the two of us about a half hour for both using a screw driver and socket wrench AND reading the directions (there are various sized screws and you must use the right one in the right place). The finish is good - smooth and tough. The long sides have plastic “teething” guards” on the tops so that the wood is not scratched if the baby bites on it. One side can be raised/lowered as needed, but the locking mechanism is not that smooth so we leave them stationary. The mattress height is adjustable so that the mattress can be lowered down as the child learns to stand up. I was able to install a heavy mobile on the headboard.

They look great with all the accessories in place and two fit nicely into our small 10X10 room, leaving space between them for a changing table.

The crib is sturdy, but if one end is pushed, there is about a half inch of “give” due to the plastic parts that allow the side to be lowered. For the price, this crib is a good deal. I would give it 5 stars if the locking mechanism worked more easily.

I have to say, when I was looking for a crib and mattress for our grandson, I never thought about looking on Amazon.com. When I found I could buy both for a resonable price and in the oak, which is what I like, I purchased it. It has been a wonderful find! I love the crib and so does our little boy. We take him about one weekend a month and now he has his own bed and not the playpen we were shuttling back and forth. I also purchased the side rail to turn it into a toddler bed. This will last for years to come.

Ordered this crib from a different merchant ($165, no shipping). I put it together alone in about 45 minutes. It’s a simple, basic crib that looks nice in the nursery. The crib color looks a little off from this picture…it really is more of a natural color…the picture here looks a lot lighter. I’d recommend this as a good basic crib for someone on a budget!
