What I didn’t realize was that this crib was not adjustable. I bought this crib for my house so that when my grandson visits, he’ll have his own bed.
I like the old fashioned look, but I think it’s very basic. This should not be used at the primary residence if the more affordable version can be obtained.
It’s not bottom of the barrel, but not the best buy.

I was wary about this crib at first view, but after reading how much everyone else liked it, I decided to give it a try because I loved the look of it and the price. I wish I had gone with my initial instinct. This crib is cheaply made and won’t last long with our everyday use (we’ve been using it for several months now). The drop-side is a pain and doesn’t go up or down smoothly - I have to wiggle & bend it to get it to stay in any position because the rail-stop mechanism is cheap plastic. The casters aren’t smooth-rolling either. I’ve assembled more pieces of RTA furniture than I can count so I’m used to deciphering poorly written instructions and I know I assembled this accurately.
If you aren’t planning to actually use the drop-side or casters, I guess it would be fine. It looks pretty and doesn’t cost much, but those the only positive things I can say.
I’m going to buy a different one.

I purchased this crib for my first & only child after TONS and TONS and TONS of research. I couldn’t afford to spend a lot of money on a piece of furniture that was only going to be used once. My primary concern was safety. Again, after much research into various cribs I settled on this one, as it seemed to be the best one for the price. Granted, I haven’t had a chance to use the crib (kid hasn’t made his grand entrance into this world, yet), but here are my thoughts so far.
First, purchasing through Amazon was very easy and painless. The crib arrived quickly and undamaged and with all the necessary parts (yay!).
Second, it is true that the instructions for putting the crib together aren’t the best, but they’re definitely not the worst either. Working mostly alone (although Mom did help hold pieces in place while I screwed the parts together) and taking a few breaks, I had the crib together in under 2 hours. I suggest taking things slow, reading through each step thoroughly, taking a close look at the diagrams and looking at the pieces you’re about to put together to see that everything makes sense before you starting putting in the screws and bolts. Doing that, I got it put together right the first time and didn’t have to redo anything.
Third, yes the wood is soft, but that’s what I expected from a low-priced crib. You get what you pay for. If I wanted hardwoods, I would’ve spent a lot more money. Because I took things slow in putting the crib together, I only put a few dings and nicks in the wood and in places where you really can’t see them. I do expect both me and the kid to put quite a few more dings, nicks and dents into the wood just through daily use. But again, it’s a trade-off for the affordable price.
Fourth, yes the design of the crib is such that you can see the hardware. There is nothing to cover it up or make it blend into the wood. Again, this is an inexpensive crib. If you’re that concerned with the looks of the crib, spend the money to get a higher-end crib.
Fifty, despite the soft wood, the crib seems to be very sturdy. Like I said, I haven’t started using it, but no worries so far.
Sixth and finally, I love the color and style of the crib. The color is a nice, warm neutral oak that goes wonderfully in the nursery. The style is simple and classic. In fact, I liked the look so much that I also ended up purchasing the matching changing table to go with the crib.
To sum up, for an affordable crib, I have been very pleased with the quality and style of this crib and would definitely recommend it to others. (Note: I only gave the crib 4 stars, as I haven’t had a chance to actually use it yet and see how it holds up over time.)

This crib is fantastic. Simple to put together — no tools are needed. It has held up to our child extremely well. He jumps in it and everything else a little boy does. It has all the bells and whistles of more expensive ones. It got Consumer Reports top rating too! Just don’t over pay for the crib here. Check out Walmart and Babies R Us to get it for around $110.

I just recieved this crib. I’ve taken one look at it and am sending it back. It looks really cheap. The spindles are very thin and are not stiff. It wouldn’t take much at all to break them. It might look better in white, but the cherry finish just screams “I am a cheap crib.” And by that, I don’t just mean looks, but am worried about the safety & durability. I really wanted a Jenny Lind but I guess I’ll have to settle for some other style.
