She may not be ready yet. I would keep offering opportunities to cruise along furniture, but don’t push it. Eventually she will become more comfortable and do it in her own time.

what’s the hurry?? let her stay a baby just a bit longer. eventually, she’ll start cruising & walking on her own. relax & enjoy parenthood.

Wait until she’s ready, she’s awfully young yet.

That said, when my son first cruised along the couch while his Dad was at work, I wanted to him to do it when my husband came home so he could see it. So I put a cookie on each end of the couch. ;)

But I don’t think that would encourage a child who wasn’t ready to cruise to do it. It would only work in the situation in which I did it - to convince a baby who was already cruising to show off his new trick for his Dad.

She’ll start doing this when she’s ready. No need to push it. As with most of the other developmental milestones, a baby will do it when he/she is good and ready and for each baby, that time may come sooner or it may come later. As long as your pediatrician doesn’t express concern, I’d just let her develop on her own.

Best wishes!
